My Beloved Indonesian Week 2011

Hi blogger, this is me, Maya! It's been awhile since the last post I posted, right?

However, things in Japan still the same. Hot weather, busy schedule, excitement and joyful. From July 4 - 8, 2011 was Indonesian Week 2011 in APU. I really love that week because for a whole week, all Indonesian students spread the Indonesian atmosphere in APU through introducing our cultures. On July 4 we had Parade in APU Fountain, July 5 we had One Night in Nusantara, July 7 we had Batik Class and July 8 we had Grand Performance in APU Millennium Hall.

This was my first Indonesian Week and I joined Choir. We sang "Si Patokaan" and "He Yamko Rambe Yamko". The choir practice was so much fun that I realized one thing. Friends are amazing. Without them, I cannot enjoy the practice.

A lot of joy and happiness through this week. I really enjoyed introducing my country to international people.

And here it came the Grand Performance. It's so crazy that people start to line up like about 3 hours before the main gate was opened! You can watch it through Ustream! ;) I'll give the link afterwards. Just keep reading haha.

I learnt a lot from this event and I got a lot of valuable experiences and memories as well. I got a lot of new friends. I performed three times (included the credit part). Opening Dance, Choir and Credit Part haha.

It is recommended if you watch it here. You must wondering what kind of performances that could make people waiting in line for 3 hours. And all of them are made by Indonesian Community (APUIna) APU. So proud ;)

I'll post again next time.

Thanks for reading, see ya' and bye bye!

Far Away From Japan,
Maya
